A Painting Field Trip with Eric Maurus

MAHALO TO EVERYONE WHO JOINED OUR Waikiki PAINTING FIELD TRIP WITH LOCAL ARTIST eric maurus.

Our workshop started by meeting at Polu Gallery Waikiki from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. We stayed indoors, learned about the history of expressionism, and practiced drawing and oil painting techniques.

We packed our convenient painting easels and a Polu Gallery to carry our rental painting supplies that were included the price to walk from the beautiful Royal Hawaiian Hotel’s halls and find ourselves a beautiful spot arranged prior by Eric Maurus next to the ocean but also underneath shadows with the beautiful view of Lē’ahi as in English it’s called Diamond Head.

Three painting students study Le’ahi (Diamond Head) Photography by Moon Mele.

Beautiful memories to take home.

At the end of the workshop, all the painting students were able to complete at least two finished paintings.

The painting students left the workshop feeling happy and proud of their newfound painting skills. They could also take their finished paintings home as a tangible memory of their time learning and creating.
